Films, food and fun under the stars at Genting’s Starlight Carnival
If entertainment under starlit skies while surrounded by cool air in the highlands sounds nice, Resorts World Genting is the place to be this month. The first-Starlight Carnival is set to feature films, music, food and games at Century Lake Park. It happens every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Oct 10 to Nov 2.
Resorts World Genting executive VP (Leisure and Hospitality) Datuk Edward Holloway said the resort’s altitude makes it an ideal place for an open-air event.
“We’re in the tropics, so Malaysia’s hot weather is not always conducive for open-air events. But in Resorts World Genting the weather is cool all year round and this makes us the perfect place to hold a European-style al fresco carnival,” he said.
Guests can look forward to an extensive line-up of fun activities. For one, movie fans will be delighted with its unique cinematic experience. At the Carnival Cinema, blockbusters will play on a supersized pop-up screen.
The open-air Movie Under The Stars will lend a new dimension to the atmosphere of the film, where clouds could blow in during a mysterious scene or the chirping chorus of nocturnal animals elevates other moments.
When hunger strikes, grab a bite from any of the gourmet food trucks and dining options. The event, which coincides with Halloween and Octoberfest, will feature special themes during those two occasions.
