We’re coming to the end of the year and holiday season is nigh! That means plenty of time to binge-watch TV shows. Here are five shows that pique our interest in November:

Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings

Dolly Parton is the subject of a new Netflix series! But instead of a biographical series on the country music icon, the show will feature fictional storylines on each episode. Here’s where it gets exciting - the storylines are reimaginings of true accounts that inspired Parton’s famous songs, including her signature Jolene. Besides appearing on the show, Parton executive produces. Julianne Hough, Ginnifer Goodwin and Melissa Leo star.

For All Mankind

Apple TV + entered the streaming service market on Nov 1, placing its bets on four original series - The Morning Show, See, Dickinson and For All Mankind. Unfortunately, reviews aren’t favourable for the first two. But things are looking quite good for For All Mankind, which received a second season order. The show is an alternate history, exploring what would happen if the United States didn’t get to the moon first, losing the global space race to Russia. Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman and Wrenn Schmidt star.

His Dark Materials

Taking place in a world where all humans have animal companions called daemons - the physical manifestation of the human soul, His Dark Materials follows young orphan Lyra searching for a friend who has gone missing. She discovers that a string of kidnappings has been happening and it is linked to a mysterious substance called Dust. Starring Dafne Keen, James McAvoy and Ruth Wilson.

His Dark Materials airs every Tuesday at 10am on HBO (Astro Ch 411).
